Hardtraxx TV #3: The Magic Show presenteert Digital Punk (WiSH Outdoor 2012)

Good day everyone at Hardtraxx.

We have been away for a while.

.

.

.

.

.

but we are back with a very important subject: WiSH Outdoor.

We are standing here on the festival site with only grass.

In about 2 months it's one big party spot.

12.

500 party people last year who went completely insane in the different area's.

One of the area's was The Magic Show.

This year we will introduce you The Magic Show area “The Dungeon”.

We will visit and interview some of the performing artists to see how they prepare for WiSH Outdoor.

Today we got a nice headliner, a big guy in the scene, everybody knows him.

It's an honor to be there, we're going to: Digital Punk.

We have arrived in the studio of Digital Punk, everything ok? Yeah, sure! You? Yeah, fine! You have made an album “Escape from Reality”, how was that? Looking back one year? I have decided to make an album because I had a lot of new music and I wanted to do something different than the other albums out there.

That was my focus point.

I think it turned out great when you see the tracklist.

.

.

.

.

.

with a lot of guys you didn't expect I would do a studio session with.

And the 'kick backs' with bookings is better than expected.

I would do it again.

We are here for The Magic Show at WiSH Outdoor, you are in the line-up too.

When did you heard you play there? And what was your reaction? I think Michel called me 2 months ago if I thought it's cool.

I immediately said yes.

.

.

.

.

.

because last year with the containers and the industrial look it looked really cool.

Unfortantly I couldn't stay long after my set.

But I heard it was a crazy party.

And I had to promise Michel of The Magic Show to stay till the end.

So that will turn out fine.

The theme this year is “The Dungeon”.

What do you expect? It's no mainstage, so I won't spin like that, I think I will show my hard side.

Looking back to last year I will give it a dark feeling, that should come back in the music.

It's going to be alright.

You are already been here for a while in the Hardstyle scene.

That scene has changed during the years.

How did it change your tracks? When I began making Hardstyle then came “Bringing The Funk” and “Dark Symphony”.

Then I started to make music full time.

.

.

.

.

.

allowing you to make more music with the time you have and not focus on one thing.

I then went very wide with my music.

Last year with my album I didn't only want to do the hard stuff.

.

.

.

.

.

and I therefore did a bit mainstream but with a raw Digital Punk edge on it.

But in general I think it's good, but the music went a bit harder.

If I hear a track of Headhunterz or the Noisecontrollers i also really like to spin those, because it's also hard.

The way i'm doing it right now that's the way I would like to present myself, so they can let me play on a mainstage with my own tracks but they also let me close down the “Loudness” event.

With “Dark Symphony”, “Rock The Party” and “Loose Control” you've already made some classics in Raw Hardstyle.

Can we expect those tracks again on stage? In any case I would go back to those tracks.

I still get a lot of feedback on those tracks.

It happen to be that the people who go to the The Magic Show area at WiSH Outdoor who would like to hear it.

That will happen anyway.

And some new material but then only the rawest tracks and just doing my thing, but the harder side of Digital Punk.

Do you have examples of new stuff that's coming? Examples.

.

.

I just made the Loudness Anthem which is really hard.

I've made a new track with Nitrouz, “Shadows of the Day” is the name of the track.

I'm busy with creating a track on my own, again also a hard track.

And some side projects, but not relevant for The Magic Show area, I won't spin that then.

Recently the album of the Noisecontrollers is released with your remix of the track “Aliens”.

How did it come that you may make a remix for the Noisecontrollers? I won't make a secret of it that Bas from the Noisecontrollers is my producers hero.

What that guy can do in the studio that's just.

.

.

.

.

.

he can put a genre to his own hand.

I think that's awesome.

So when they make an album they told me I can make a remix for it, that's an honor for me and I also may choose the track.

So after struggling for a long time I chose the track “Aliens”.

I thought it was a track that is not good on it's own, many people decided to spin the other side of the LP.

I played the track alot those days.

If I ever should do a remix I would pick “Aliens”.

At that time they made a lot of tracks so I couldn't choose.

But i chooe “Aliens” and I think the result is good, i'm very proud of it.

And they were happy with it.

The Magic Show area “The Dungeon”.

Why should people go to Digital Punk? I'm going to do something different than i used to do.

I'm going to spin a lot of my older tracks, the harder tracks.

So if you want to come, you should go to The Magic Show area, 30th of june at WiSH Outdoor.

BAM JONGUH! JAAA!.
